That looks a lot better Nick. :dbgrtmb: As you say, in a few years the new shrubs will mature and give you some screening. :)

Thought I would post some update pictures! The seeding hasn't gone totally according to plan, will have to overseed it next spring. Pleased with the end result though, just a pity I didn't have some 'before' pictures to show the difference.

The Lavender has filled out well since planting Nick and your garden is looking more settled now. :dbgrtmb:

Thanks Sheal. The lavender has done really well - better than I expected. Should look really excellent this time next year. Other areas of the garden are doing really well too, will post some more pics soon.

Update: Had the old tree stumps grinded a few months ago - now planted another shrub to finish off the side border.

In the front garden I've cleared one of the beds that was looking tatty/overgrown. Planted another shrub in its place and planning on levelling the corner and seeding it to repair the lawn.

Pictures coming soon, very happy with the garden at the moment really looks so much better than 18 months ago :)

Just seen this thread. I love those benches! You are very lucky to have those flint walls as a backdrop; fabulous!

Thanks Redwing :) Here are some pictures of the latest work...

First is the new Pittosporum victoria (middle shrub) which has replaced the unsightly old tree stumps.

This section in the front garden was a little overgrown and untidy. After some pruning, clearing and stump grinding I have planted one Pittosporum tobira next to the gate. Undecided if I'll plant anything else yet, I actually quite like the open space around the tree...to the left of this is next on the list. It needs clearing up, levelling and I'll finish the lawn off with some shade seed in the spring.

Couple of autumnal shots taken today. Forgot to take some images from the rest of clearing work done in front garden! TBC...

Lovely pictures Nick. I like a mature informal garden. :)

Thanks Sheal. Look forward to the spring now to see some progress (and possibly enjoy some warmer weather!!).

Hopefully we've had the winter shortened by this late warm spell. :)

Thanks :) I'll be posting some updates later in the month. Have a small area in the front garden that needs finishing off..
