You could try painting a small trial area in green (maybe at the back where it won't show) to see if that covers the brown. Failing that you could grow some climbing plants up it to blend it in with the garden more.

my neighbour has had a look at shed and said its solid, which is one good thing, the brown has really faded and some parts its gone completely so i am sure the green will cover, even if i have to do a few coats, im tryin to think positive lol i will put a photo up once put it up :D before painting and after lol

Why don't you take an electric sander to it, sand it down to create a nice bare wood finish, then wood stain it with something like Rosewood or Oak (go for a lighter colour so you don't get your 'horrible brown' back, then a good coat of weatherproof gloss varnish. It will look a treat.

Or, paint it white, allow the paint plenty of time to dry, sand it down (so that the wood grain just comes through the paint) and then varnish over the top?

i was going to do that but when looked at the panels the brown had soaked through most of the panelling so thought it wouldnt work :( but i really wanted that varnished look, but hopefully the green wont look too gross lol at least will match in with garden fences:gnthb:

Keep painting ..... once its finished it will look good im sure :)

I just painted my own shed which was looking rather tatty. Painted it the same colour as the fence also (in the brown you dont like lol) but at least it blends in rather than sticking out.

Made a huge difference and almost new again !!

How much did you pay for the shed ?

here is the ugly thing, its still wet so looks worse, i dont like the window area, i will prob put a few plants around it, and want something to cover the windows a bit as i think looks odd with no wood panel above window, so maybe a plant tub with trailing flowers on the roof or something lol :(
