Adding my best wishes Whiley having gone through lots of tests myself in the
last few years and been frightened what the results would be -
it's the worrying that makes you feel worse than actually knowing!

Keep your chin up and let us know how things go for you.
We are all here rooting for you.

I got out late last night after loads of x rays, tests, inspections and proddings.

I was the youngest on the ward by 35 years! Plus much to my amusement i was on 'E bay' xD

Basically, yeah, my nerves are going bad and have been trapped, but what they were going to do was surgically untrap them. The problem is, they're already untrapped. But they're still crappy. So there lies a problem. I'm going to be going in and out for a while getting various treatments trying to liven them up before things get too critical. I can walk even less than i was before so i get me a groovy wheelchair.

Plus, lots and lots of morphine based painkillers. I knew there would be an upside...

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers - and compliments lads! After feeling truely bedraggled and feeling like throwing darts at the cosmopolitan mag models page it was nice to have that reception! :D

Thank you. Will keep you updated.

Whiley - hope the treatments help and you don't lose mobility. Thought - are you being investigated and treated locally. If so how about getting them to refer you to the speclalist neurological (nerve) hospital in London! - they are pretty good in my experience. I can find out the name and address if you want.

Fran that would be very useful, as they them a bit gormless as to what to do next. I had to fight for the clinic referals. They felt it was okay to see the scans and x rays, see nothing, and then decide nothing exsisted despite the pain i'm in- bit of a worry!
Cheers Fran, and hello Beefy! Hehe!

    Here's the web site address.

    http://www.ion.ucl.ac.uk/about/contact.htm

Neurology is the medical side (i.e. not operations) but they do surgery as well and from my contact with them in a previous working existance, they are very good. Your GP can refer you directly - but knowing how hospital systems work, get a copy of your hospital notes, which will include scan etc results. The most that would cost you is £50, and take it with you.
