Although your hair is stunning LoL long hair seems to end up everywhere Lady Walnut has longish thick hair it seems to me to be a lot of trouble, I like either long or short it's the person under it that counts.

My favourite hairdo around at the moment is Carol Klien's funky spikey look! LOL - you could go for a total change and enjoy the wow factor when people see you for the first time!

I have often tried to grow my hair long - and I admire your patience in maintaining such a wonderful head of hair - but I always despair just after shoulder length and go to the sheep shearers again for my annual visit!

But I totally agree with Sarra on this - be true to your self 100% - don't be swayed by the 1000's of Victoria Beckham hairdo's out there!!!

There is nothing like a total change though every now and again to make you feel new and refreshed! Especially if you have something to celebrate coming up!!!

Hi, imp ... I honestly don't think that would suit me!  I would feel, well, naked to say the least!

Don't think I could do the funky spikey look either, Cookie. I do like it long enough to clamp it up and can have spikey things sticking out of the top though.

Thank you all for your input and opinions. I'm leaning to the chop to just below the shoulders ... as I said I did it two years ago and it grew back to this length in that time.

Watch this space ... there could be a new me next month. [IMG]

I think the texture of your hair really makes a difference as to what style looks good.(she did 10 months hairdressing course 13 years ago and thinks she knows it all!!!) lol

LoL you have such beautiful hair!

As others have said - it is what you feel comfortable with yourself that matters.

I would just like my hair to grow - medications I have to take have made it all disappear,
and so my hair is very thin to almost non-existant on the crown.
"Tempus fugit" and all that!!!

Oh, dear, didn't mean for this to go on like this ... thank you all for your lovely comments.

Shiney, you of all people should know if someone has had waist-length hair for 40 years barring two moments of "whatever", it's a difficult decision. I'm tired of being strangled by it in the night if I don't tie it back.

I have cut 1/3 off and it's now wavy because of the weight being lifted. It's not as red as the photo which was taken looking in a mirror ... it's very blonde actually ... no, lots of white (not grey, my family does white) ... it's very streaky ... strawberry / blonde / white ... couldn't have painted it better had I tried. [IMG]

Anyway, let's end this ... perhaps a pic when I come back in early May.

LoL, as a redhead i expect to go white, not grey. I was interested to hear that you hair is going wavy now. I always had straight hair & had it long for years. Like yours it is thick too. Now i'm wearing it just below (well quite a few inches) below shoulder length its gone wavy - kinky i call it. How come? Is it like you say that it's just the weight that's kept it straight? I didn't have wavy hair as a child, did you?

If i get brave enough i may post a pic of my hair.

To go back to original question, i think you know if it's not right. Wearing it up is good. Not special, you need it up for working don't you? Let us all know what you decide, LoL.

    cheers

Hi LoL! Been offline for a while and so just catching up with all you lovely people!

Just had a quick look at your photos and I can't believe that you are turning 60 soon! It would be a big, big decision to cut your hair, as it is so much part of you and who you are. You could always do it gradually, but if you are happy with how it looks then keep it the way it is - it looks great!

I have very dark thick hair which tends to be very curly - and tried to grow it as long as I could when I was younger (I desperately wanted my hair in plaits!!). However it tended to grow outwards instead of downwards - does anyone remember 'Chrystal Tips & Alistair'? Well let's say that Chrystal's hair style was similar to mine!!

I now must report that as I have now reached my half-century, there are 'traces' of white hair, and so I have taken the plunge and had them tastefully disguised, and in addition had a really funky, very short haircut which I really love! (Mid-life crisis may be to blame??!!) So different that a lot of people didn't recognise me!! But I love it and that is the main point!

Your hair is great, you look great, you love your hair, so keep it as it is!! :)
