Good gracious Dee, you mustn`t have been watching.

No one anywhere has taught me as much about gardening as Geoff Hamilton did, and fair`s fair, he might bug folk but Alan Titchmarsh is a clever guy who knows how to tell folks stuff.

I mean, I appreciate that you need to ask a specific question from time to time-and this and other gardening forums, are perfect places for it, but for a general overview of something old Gardeners worlds just can`t be beat, except a face to face chin wag with an experienced gardener.

Makka, when I did Gardeners Question Time we were all given bits of card with the question on that we were to ask. Giving the " experts " time to work out the answers. This was when Stefan Buczacki was chairman.

Hi folks. Having watched GW on friday night, I must say that (to me) it isn't very inspiring any more. I too was a fan of Geoff Hamilton who always managed to convey his infectious enthusiasm. The same can be said to some degree regarding Alan Titchmarsh and Monty Don imo. No disrespect to the current presenters, but the sooner they're gone, the better! :D Cheers...freddy.

No good harping on about presenters past you either put up with what you now have change channels or read a good gardening book.

You never know, if no one complains then nothing will get done. The producers might be reading this thread and put someone else up to front it, I think either Russell Brand or Jonathan Ross would spark a bit of life also they are well qualified being on gardening leave :)

The only thing those two idiots (Ross & Brand!) would know about wheelbarrows would be in using them to carry all their cash to the bank :(

Anyway back to the thread, I think I will write to the BBC complaining about the dumbing down of GW. Can't see them changing GW, but if enough of us did it then we might get a more practical/serious programme to ourselves - it wouldn't have to cost them much to make - they could pay Kew/RHS experts to do 5 minute slots on each of their favourites subjects.
