Oh dear, maybe I misunderstood. A few of the usernames that are duplicated here/there also belong to the same nice individuals which is nicely consistent. Why were they forced to change their names? Perhaps they can just go back to the names you recognize?

I don't know if they had the "spy" function on GW but I find it very useful here because I can see recent conversations. I like that and about once a day, I select "new posts" because I have missed lots interesting threads by only using spy. A lot can happen in a few hours

 

I wonder how many Spartacus's are here.

 

Hello .... I've found a thread where we can say good morning to folk each day, have copious cups of tea and coffee, bacon baps and croissants, and chatter about the bits and bobs of life throughout the day ... its called YAWN YAWN WAKEY WAKEY or something like that ... but I've not discovered how to link to it yet ..... it's in a bit called The Muppet Show by Wise Owl ... hope you can find it ...

Hello everyone,
I’ve also been a member of the GW forum. I think we’re a bit shell shocked at the abrupt way in which the closure of the site has been handled and feel upset at the way it’s been done. However, I hope that I can put anyone’s mind at rest who worry that the migrating GW members might be cliquey and unfriendly, as my experience of the GW forum has been one of welcome and inclusion and when I started posting on GW didn’t feel it was cliquey. The people I’ve seen posting here from GW have all been very friendly, helpful and supportive. I think it’s just a case of looking for each other to see if we’ve made the transition across, and keeping the same user name if possible, is a way of doing this, but once we’re all settled in, we’ll be contributing to many threads, I’m sure, but definitely not muscling in.
Looking forward to many happy days ahead posting here and making lots of new friends .

 

There is a "watch thread" button at the top of the pages, if you use that you get an alert at the top of your pages when someone puts in a new post.

Nothing sinister I assure you, simply because this from requires a username to have a minimum number of characters, whereas over on GW their username consisted of fewer characters.

 

Yes that's a great feature over here, I'm not sure if GW had that feature?
