Not sure where to ask this, so will try here! The last two "ratings" icons in the row, one looking like a carrot and the other a paintbrush, well, what do they signify?

 

The carrot thing (I think it’s a spanner?) is “useful” and the paint brush is “creative”.

I just clicked them and then clicked undo .

 

I think the 'carrot' is a spanner - so a 'useful' tool. The paintbrush, which I believe some thought looked like a leek, indicates a 'creative' comment. The Smiley face is 'funny', the green tick means 'I agree', the blue disc with the white 'i' is for an 'informative' post and the thumbs up - well - we know what that signifies!

@Fat Controller, @wiseowl and co - I think a "commiserations" symbol would be useful. Can't exactly "like" a post about someone's treasure being hit by slugs, snails, frost, over enthusiastic OH's wielding secateurs............

 

I'm still getting used to all the little tools and things, but I must say we - the exiled - have had such a warm and friendly welcome from the lovely folk here!
It must have been overwhelming to have us all descend here so quickly, so thank you all.
We don't need you GW, we're an army now.

You know the random photo at the side - is it a photo from this site and how often does it change?

Hmm, interesting. I am on an ipad. If I click on "Forums", then on the right hand side there is a box with staff members online and underneath is a box with a "random photo", which keeps changing.
