I just heard the news - we won the silver award! How exciting! It's going to be on BBC2 tomorrow at 8pm and I think Send a cow is being featured so watch out for us! x

Well done SendaCow, I saw you on the telly last night, your stand looked very good. I like the hessian bag idea, I can see that catching on over here for people with limited space. I'm wondering if I shuld try groing my courgettes that way, even though I have a biggish veg patch I might be able to cram more in.

Its great to learn new ideas.

:) I visited the Sendacow stand(garden) at the show ,I asked for Jess but she was not around.
Sustainable techniques from Africa to try in our garden.
In Rural Africa poor families depend for survival somewhat on what they can grow........They learn how to make the best use of water, land and livestock to produce food all year round.
Hear is a picture of what they call bags for life.
Bag gardens are multi storey veg.gardens in a sack.

Good photos roders, I did watch it on the telly on Friday night and thought it was a very good practical event. The SendaCow hessian bags are a good idea, I might try copying it next year.

Great Pics must admit I didn't take any pics. It was a good show but I don't think I would go again unless my illness gets better as it was awful. I was in a disability scooter and people would look at me and walk straight across in front of me or look and tut at me cause they couldn't get past me. I kept getting hit in the face by peoples bags as well but I spose I was lucky to even get a scooter as the company I booked and paid my scooter with weren't there as their contract had run out. They had taken money off at least 10 people knowing they woldn't be there anymore. The really nice firm that had taken over the scooters let me have one for free.

I also couldn't see half the stalls as I couldn't get close enough and people just pushed in in front of me. It was a real eye opener to people's behaviour to the disabled. Now I know why I don't go out much lol
