I had to pop out into the garden yesterday evening, to pick some courgettes for my dinner :heehee:, and although it was a bit dull out there (very overcast and 7.30 p.m.) the plants were looking good. Not brilliant light for taking photos. :noidea:

What was really nice was the sound the all pervading sound of buzzing bees. :dbgrtmb: They were everywhere :rolleyespink:

There must have been over a hundred on one of our big bunches of Stachys and they're not even in flower yet!

The Veronicastrum also attract a lot.

Good morning friendly forums, hope you are well .

Sunny start to the day, sun is streaming in through the windows!

Lovely pics of hedgehog and the very dashingly handsome Bracken.

I'm with you there @shiney .....as long as cuttings are taken with care then I will gladly let people help themselves too.

Dad duties beckoning today ..... housework , washing/ ironing and I feel I will also be planting up his rockery as I spied a tray of newly purchased rockery plants when I call in on him on Wednesday!

Still I don't mind at all......just glad that at 92 he is still alert and interested in his garden and all its wildlife!

Have a Fabbydoo Friday !( :snorky: making up my own words now!)

Our crows aren't too bad. We have had three of them for some years (recognise the feathers that are out of place) and they help clean up the ground under the bird feeders. They share cleaning duty with the pheasants and smaller birds. The squirrels don't like them and are always chasing them.

@Kandy I agree. The birdfoods just disappear very quickly. The only way to slow it down is not to use a green or blue feeders. They finish the foods in those much faster. Michaela in Spring watch talked about a research on the colours of the feeders and their popularity. Lo and behold, I found out the results were true the following day! Lovely programme Spring watch! Really enjoyed them, especially the furry stoats and the stunning kingfishers, the latter I really want to see one in real life - on my bucket list!

Now is the time for them to feed their young so I will refill more.

Nice pics every one.Just planted some more cosmos, I've been doing a bit at a time. Clear a bit of ground, then planted them. The ground is still very dry. Had to give them a good watering.
