A garlic spray does wonders for the aphids & slugs here. If it's good enough for the head gardeners at Buckingham Palace :yay: It does create a horrific stench in the kitchen though, I must warn. Only downside is re-applying after rain, but what rain Southeners? Agree re: deadheading, my Blue Bird delphiniums are just beginning to flower again & much better than the first, very pleased. Probably my truest Blue in the garden, as well as Borage.

Please bear with me here as it might not work...or it will be an awful pic. I'm experimenting taking pics on my tablet, only problem is it's front facing so I can't actually see what I'm capturing.....might be just my hand!!:snorky: IMG_20170701_162408.jpg

@zenj Awwww.. so beautiful .. and you're going to have a gooooooood show. So many buds. I'm glad to announce that I have some growing in my garden in ESSEX - finally. Some bought, but some raised from seeds.. I just applied some slug pellets I keep my fingers crossed and hopefully will have some display sometimes..

And I love the hebe .. They are so prolific I wonder what has happened to my cuttings. Must have died.

@Mark56 Lovely flowers that yellow ones are a such a striking colours. I will use my home grown garlic to see if it helps. Better than using pellets.

@Upsydaisy Well done. Love your zinnia.. and your garden is beautifully laid out. Quite unlike mine. Today, my son and I knocked down a brick wall and I will see if anyone will want to collect the bricks as hardcore.

Funny thing is that I thought the seedlings I planted along the south facing border were nicotianas. They turned out to be zinnias!:ouch1: typical me.

                        Some streptocarpuses

Love your zinnias.. Mine is still in tiny bud. There is one orange, but it look anaemic and very tiny so I haven't bothered taking a pic.

Wish I had a lovely garden like yours. @Upsydaisy
