Wow! Amazing! Unreal! I was so excited that I asked my son to come and have a look. Obviously, he has better eyesight than I and pointed out two babies in the first photo. They are finches .. Do you keep them?

You and your missus must be some kind of bird magnets... You've made my day, @shiney..

@Mark56 Springwatch was very good. The stoats were so cute and I was very happy to have seen them in real life and the grey finches were gorgeous.

For those who haven't seen my videos, here are the links, short but sweet

For those who like to objectify the male species

@Upsydaisy Nothing so altruistic as yours. We have regigged my butt which son had mended (excuse the pun! Haha!) and of course, heavens have had other ideas. Son said, "Mum, I smell chlorine!" Two drops on the window pane and it went into a sulk .. and poor @zenj had to take photos in the rain.. It was so humid and we worked in the lean to and got rid of loads of stuff. Tomorrow, I had to hoover the place and re-paint some of the area (this has been the 3rd of 5th time I have painted the place. Of course, with winter, there have been streaks of condensation.. I certainly need to re-touch some areas tomorrow and on Wednesday, we have to buy the adhesive and tools and we would lay out all the tiles to see how we can get away with cutting as little as possible around the edges. Quite a bit of maths to do as well. Have just done the bread and have been watching Kon tiki.. Quite interesting and enjoyed a very dramatic opening..

We are suppose to have rain...all day tomorrow!! I will believe it only when it happens, definitely won't hold my breathe :)

Sounds like you had a pretty busy day too @alp.:)

Do you make all your own bread? We always use to in our bread maker....... the smell of freshly baked bread is divine, only trouble was it was so yummy that we often ate more than we should have.:nonofinger:

                @alp

All the birds in our garden are wild - but friendly. We don't have as many pheasants around as we used to. We think it's mainly because of Sarafi, the cat that Mrs Shiney is holding, and Fluffy (another local cat) who tend to wander through. Up until a few years ago we had Oscar (the cat that adopted us and lived in the greenhouse) and he kept the other cats out and also looked after the birds. He was a rather unusual cat as he was bird friendly. I put up tribute to him here:- (on page 1)
                The GC PET RAINBOW GARDEN.....

The baby pheasants used to play with him (run over him whilst he 'slept' with one eye open ) and the other resident birds took no notice of him whilst he was in the garden.
I haven't got a photo of that but this is typical of him and the pheasants
                P1030526.JPG

We think that he was bird friendly because Mrs Shiney loved the birds, and he adored her.

The birds may also be influenced by the 20kg of seed they get through every five weeks! :snorky:

Mrs Shiney is the bird lady!

What? Rain already? No wonder, I had so few fruits ... Well, @Logan I HAVE to find some excuse. Need rain for any plants to blossom and fruit...

@Upsydaisy I can never understand why the meteorological office deserve £1m bonus.. They never get anything right. Not a drop of rain yesterday and I love their phrase - the rain could be hit and miss and not everyone can catch it .. What's the point of watching the weather reports?

Rant over as @shiney and Mrs shiney have made my day. The cat snapping next to the birds.. How lovely.. I do love cats, but just wish they wouldn't caress me and be coquettish with me in the hope of getting some food. Early this morning, the first thing I saw was, you guess, the cat! It stared at me as if begging for food. I don't really want to start.

Lovely finches.. I have 4 feeders and I have nothing but sparrows! Where have I gone wrong! Ah, I know they are having a good time @zenj 's eatery or @shiney 's personal service.. Love the photo where Mrs shiney is holding the cuties.. That's what I call being RICH in spirit and happy in life. If I had @Verdun's goodies, life would be PERFECT! :hapfeet::yahoo:

@Logan You had a power cut.. Hope it is a short one...

                        Morning all.

We were supposed to have rain .... gradually it's on the move again....now it said to arrive about lunch time...ho hum! Must say that it does look very promising, very grey and murky looking out there today.

@shiny loved reading Oscar's story and the painting of him is and fantastic, so life-like that it could almost pass as a photo.:wow:
Thanks for the link...very moving stories, I would think that @Logan would find it of interest too.

Hot off the press........... it's arrived:rain::rain::rain::yes::hapfeet::yay::yahoo::hapydancsmil::dbgrtmb:

Oh! ,it's stopped now:frown: that was short lived, not even 5 minutes worth! The sky is brightening up now too:headache:

Here's hoping for a Torrential Rain Tuesday!

So lovely to have our @Upsydaisy Reading the post always ends up having a cackle! Ah.. you see, you've said it too soon. We haven't had a drop since yesterday.. Boy, aren't we obsessed with the lack of rain and @zenj 's crying over having too much..

May I baptise Mrs @shiney as a BIRD WHISPERER!?
