      A very banal clematis

      And a banal dahlia
      SAM_0325.JPG

Last year, a friend gave me a Spaghetti Squash or Shark Fin Squash from which I got the seeds. This year, I have numerous babies.

I think I will need ROPES to tie these beauties as they are now hanging on a swing which is more than 28 years old.

After a whole year of drought, the belated courgettes have made their appearances..

The white flesh peaches are a bit on the small side. One year there was serious snow and the peaches were big and bursting with juice!

Bought loads of fuchsia last year and they all disappeared. Last week, I saw this beauty lurching around.. Boy, what a beauty!

A very good morning to each and everyone one of you, including @alp 's very clever lovely son!

Well it's a tad overcast here but I think the day is set to remain dry.

Had a lovely time with my friends at the GC yesterday, yummy cakes!!.....but.....came home empty handed as I couldn't see anything that I really wanted and all the plants on the sick bay trolley were beyond reviving....

Son No.3 arrived safely last night , really set my mind at ease about living were he does .....talking about these awful acid attacks in his area!! But to be realistic ( which can be hard!) ,we had a horrendous acid attack on a women here in town which hit the headlines a couple of years ago....also had a murder about a mile away last week too! Although these are very rare events here it does prove that these things can and do happen everywhere.

Not sure what is planned today except, running No.3 son to the dentist to have his check up ,then popping over to see my Dad/ Grandpa and then later going out for a meal with hubs, No.1 and No.3 sons.

So all in all it should be a grand old day!!!

What is everyone else up to?

Hope you all have a Soothing Supermarket free Saturday.......how I hate weekend grocery shopping!! Why oh why do we leave it until the weekend...old habits ..... still not this weekend ...all done and dusted for once:yahoo::yahoo:

@alp.....no flower is banal.....if so then you would definitely see loads in my garden.....to me flowers are just like us humans..each as their own unique beauty!

        Amazing pics though:snorky:

        Have a great day:dbgrtmb:

Thank you, @Upsydaisy , from my son as well!

What a lovely day you're going to have, @Upsydaisy !

Wonder who has sneaked in!? Ah, @Upsydaisy You know every year, I say to myself - I'm going to break my bank and splash on this and that. At the end of the year, I say to myself - where's this or that and the only thing broken was my heart!

I can't bear to tear the yellow dahlia up as it has now become a squatter legally as it comes up for 2 years running ..

Referring to your posts, @Upsydaisy The world has been getting very rough.. Up in the supermarket, a lady worker told me that she wanted to move too. She said neighbours on either side of her house had been burgled. One had their brand new car stolen whilst they were asleep. On top of that, there have been numerous acid attacks.. and various hate crimes ..

Last year, one surveyor who was involved in my lean-to rebuilt told me that he had his BMW stolen on his driveway and yet he had been refused insurance claim. He said his friends told him that it was a known secret that BMW or Merc could be stolen using some electronic gadgets. Two months ago, newspaper showed pic of a thief using something hidden and then the car was stolen.. So when we doing our purchases, we have to think about CCTV as there are horrible thieves around .. If you haven't got CCTV to show it is stolen, you can be refused insurance claims and that's exactly what you call - ADD INSULT TO INJURY!

Personally, I'm happy with a SKODA Yeti .. not a Merc or BMW ..

Why do you want to get rid of the lovely sun coloured dahlia @alp.... what's wrong with it ?

Must say that yesterday I suddenly realised that I have some young plants that I grew from seed that must have gone AWOL....hunted everywhere for them !!:dunno::dunno:
One I know was a perennial ( can't think of its name at the moment) so maybe that one won't really show itself until next year.:what:

Haven't forgotten about the dehumidifiers....they are put away for the summer...will look them out and let you know which brands they are :dbgrtmb:

Yes the world is becoming a very sad place.
As I said though, it can happen anywhere....we are fairy rural here but still these things happen. We have been burgled twice , both times were during the day and on the 2nd one son No3 was alone here and he was threatened with a huge screwdriver!!
Thankfully when he stood up and showed his 6ft 4 height and all his workout muscles the chap did a quick exit . :runforhills:
Son ID'ed him so well to the police that he was caught and jailed for 4yrs

But hey...let's not to forget the good times too :dbgrtmb:

Over the years I've had three claims turned down by insurance companies - until I threatened to take them to court. :heehee: Two paid up immediately and the other paid when they received the summons. :loll:

Yes it's raining here, was going to do some more fruit picking, but not today. Any way got to make jam today or the plums will go over. Got some old muslin bags to put the stones in while cooking. But they've got holes in them and keep forgetting to mend them. I'll leave them in and fish them out when the jam is cooling down to put in jars.
Sometimes the stones won't come out,so i have to cook them like that.
                  :)

Ummm.. I can smell the fruity fragrance from here, @Logan and @zenj : Living the good life.

I used to think the idea of boiling fruits abhorrent.. The best fruits go straight to my stomach after pleasuring my mouth. Having been to the cookery class and did apple crumble twice, I have come to warm to the idea and I have even bought some fruit for the freezer so that I can make a crumble with son one day.

Good for you, @shiney I wonder what happened to the surveyor.. Everybody in insurance and motor industries knows how easy it is to steal these posh cars.. Sometimes, in life, you do have to threaten these people ..

If you didn't do that, next time when you renewed your insurance, you would be in trouble .. HAVE YOU OR ANY MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY BEEN DENIED INSURANCE CLAIM(S).. ?
