    So chuffed as heavens finally opened. I was looking at the weather report and had been waiting since 7am this morning. Rain was predicted at 8am and didn't materialise until 7.30pm. It was a flash and it poured for half an hour and no more! No complaints as finally butts have been refilled.

      OK, don't rub it in.. we know you're blissfully happy in your air-conditioned house.. Geee, how I miss my air-conditioned house and that was 30 years ago. My dad would be so scared of the electricity bill that he would be very careful whenever we wanted to switch it on. After a while, he was the first person to ask us to switch it on. It's not the same using a fan .. @Fat Controller must know full well.

          I ummmed and aaahhed a bit a couple of weeks back as I was faced with buying two new ones - the air-con fleet has been getting gradually older (the eldest died last year at 15 years old, so no harm to it), and as is always the way we ended up with two needing replaced at the same time. We bought two identical ones online, but one was faulty on delivery and no stock, so refunded - we went to another company (family owned) and bought a more powerful one and shuffled the pack, with the now eldest one going into our bedroom.

          I had a stroke of genius though - I decided to get some sound deadening material that is used in car audio installations, and stuck it to various parts of the inside of the eldest air conditioner, and reassembled it - and it has made a remarkable difference in terms of the noise produced!

          We wouldn't be without air con now - fans just don't cut the mustard.

              Hilarious your emoji. I was like that this morning as according to the weather reports, we were supposed to have rain at 8am. But no, heavens had other ideas. Then 6pm, there were terrible rumbles and at 7.30pm, it just poured down and the shop up the road was having flash flood and the water seeped through some wooden panels .. It was surreal to see so much water falling down from behind lovely wood panels.. I was trapped there for 10 minutes After half an hour, it stopped very suddenly. Well chuffed as i have 3 butts more or less refilled.

                Good morning to all. One of butts has been leaking the silver onto the floor. I'm so annoyed. The air is cool, but the sun is out in force. Have a nice day. I know how you feel, @Upsydaisy I was thinking the same before 6.30pm. Weather reports are just not very reliable.

                  Good morning folks :)
                  Clear blue sky and sea, sunshine and beautiful :SUNsmile:
                  Have to pass the famous local Burncoose Nurseries and another nursery later but I will not stop off. Nothing I really want at the moment....still have my own plants in pots needed; hey ho! Saving money :hapfeet:
                  However, I will be dropping plants to my nephew ....planting them too; some cosmos, salvias, an agastache, gazanias and leonotis so gardening will still feature today

                      @alp that's terrible.
                      @Upsydaisy I'm finding it very sweaty and the foam underneath gets wet. Hopefully only a week to go. Got to try a exercise bike to see if i can turn the pedals. Thanks for asking. How are you?
