Would love to, but got paid by cheque, which won't clear for days:DOH:

So it looks like i'm at home making Chutney tommorow due to lack of available funds:cry3:

Give me a shout if you want to pop in for a cuppa, but i'll understand if you don't on account of me being in the wrong direction.

That's a lovely offer Zig and would take you up on it if i was going to be closer.
I hope the rain holds off because it doesn't look very nice here this morning - low cloud everywhere and generally very gloomy :(
    Hey ho !

    I'm back :D

The rain held off and it wasn't too cold and windy either, it's a very small show and i still prefer the larger ones like Malvern - which, i'll be going to in 3 weeks time :D
Is anyone else going to that one ? I'm going on the Saturday.

I'm going tommorow - how long do you reckon it's takes to do it?

Well we spent about 2 hours looking around but we didn't linger at any of the stalls so if you are going to do a slow amble around i'd say double that to 4 hours - and you've seen it all at a slow pace.

At the Malvern shows (spring and autumn) it's so large that a visit from 10-3 means you've probably only seen 3/4 of it all - but, it's a lot of area to cover and there's probably triple the number of stalls etc. - but worth it :D

It's wrong to compare the two shows because they're in differing leagues.
This local one's definately worth the trip though if you can't get to the bigger ones or the walking around is prohibitive.

2 hours was exactly how long I anticipated spending there before continuing on to West Somerset (time for a few beers before fishing over late high water).

I was intending taking quite a few pics of the giant veg.

Is there a thread with ONLY the name of the shows and dates?

(location would be appreciated, I just found out that the carving one is on the way to faroe islands...)

To be honest it does take a while to search through this one...

You must need at least two people to lift one of those marrows!

Not Harrogate .... is anyone going to the Malvern Autumn Show next weekend ?
I'm going on the Saturday, the spring aswell as this one are great shows and tremendous value for money.
It's a long and tiring day but worth every part of it :D
