The garlic I planted went out in feb-mar. The leaves are just starting to wither so I will go out later and see what I've got. The packet says that the garlic will be quite strong when grown in the cooler northern areas of Europe so use sparingly. The variety is Allium Elephant and I got 5 bulbs for £1.25 half price from Wilkos :thumb::)

Looks like it :( Could these infect my spring onions too :cnfs: The garlic are in a container luckily. Should I ditch the soil in the container?

Hi LMRR. I must say it looks rather wet. Maybe they rotted off ? Of course, the bugs probably didn't help. Cheers...freddy.

Actually,I'm not sure whether it was a grub that did for mine or they just moved in to clear up the rot,my garden was freshly mucked over in the Spring of that year and it was a bit sticky to say the least. So Freddy could be right there:)

Whilst we are talking garlic I have been advised to water my orchids with garlic water. Been advised to crush a clove in water, boil it and cool it and then water with a tablespoon of the water. I've never heard of this - has anyone else?:cnfs::help:

I think much of it is to do with the weather, So much rain this year and nothing surprises me.
