Those potatoes on the right are in containers, I've moved them a bit further away to let more light at the pumpkins.

One Pumpkin is Atlantic Giant, the other is from Steve R a couple of years ago :dbgrtmb:

Is the wine bottle somehow related to Steve's 'magic feed'??? Ha!

Also, are those two 2 litre bottles next to the plants for watering straight to the roots? That's what I'm planning on doing too.

I thought you did too, as I was thinking about the usual comments about the wine bottle:snork:

Yes, the caps is screwed on with a few small holes so the water seeps out slowly :dbgrtmb:

I use 2 - 3 litre bottles without caps so I can quickly get a gallon of feed straight to the roots, and also push a cane down into the bottle and through the neck into the ground so I can see where it is after it's been smothered with leaves.

I think I'll use JWK's method as I'll be using a hose to water them sp I wont how much I've put in. Thank You.

It also depends a bit on your soil. I'm on really light chalky soil, so a gallon of water poured in one place would just drain straight away washing out nutrients at the same time, I have to water little and often.
