That's a good question. There's been a few lows, but plenty of highs. I'm not going to say watching my kids on christmas morning because that's just obvious. So I'll choose this...



That's my first born child being awarded his first coloured belt at our martial arts club. To get that, he had to do two separate tests, one in front of our regular teacher to decide if he should even be given the paperwork to register for the main test, and then once (for 45 minutes of solid activity, which incidentally followed immediately after 2 and a half hours of intensive training session) in front of our teachers and two visiting senior masters. CL1.1 is one of the youngest kids that our club has ever awarded a coloured belt to. 1.1 is the kid in the pic currently getting his new belt fastened on.

We joined around summer time, and CL1.1 wouldn't leave my side. He kept forgetting all the rules of etiquette, would fidget and stop listening etc. By the time this photo was taken he was standing to attention when required, bowing when required, understanding about half of the Korean words used in the club, and totally independent of me. I'm more or less just the driver now to get him to and from there. Once there he immediately abandons me to run off to play with the other kids, but as soon as the instructor shouts line up, he is straight into position standing to attention ready to go

 

Can't say about the best thing that happened to me, but I can still picture it

Only 4:27 PM here, doing questionable inventory of my booz selection, just seeing if I need to go out and get anything before the stores close. Not even sure if I can stay up that late. Have been soaking some peanuts in rum for couple years for a nutty rum drink. Have two bottles of wine and a bottle of Prosecco also. Might as go get some bombay gin, need a martini soon with my blue cheese stuffed olives. Back later.
