    Back on topic:-

I dislike loud noise. Loud music, people speaking loudly, whether in a crowd of people or on their own.

I have extra sensitive hearing and noise causes me problems. One benefit of old age is that my hearing has deteriorated and, when I had my hearing test the other month they said that my hearing is no longer out of the normal range. It's now just good hearing for a 20 year old!

Many years ago, when we first had a burglar alarm fitted it worked on a combination of heat and motion sensors. The motion was based on a sonic signal being bounced around. The fitters had to come back and readjust the sonic part because I was hearing the signal that was outside the normal range of humans. :hate-shocked: Apparently it wasn't totally unusual.

I don't go to pubs, try not to go to restaurants on Friday or Saturday nights, leave wedding celebrations when the music starts (friends and family are used to me going and sitting in my car and reading).

We have another Indian that we got to more than that one but it's further away. CM5 0DE

A bit of info, the railway has been sold (still going at the moment) and plans passed for two houses and a number of flats. Their turnover has dropped by about 20% in the last two years!

I don't particularly like rude people
I don't like noises in any environment, as I have tinnitus and if more than two people speak I can't understand a word. Quiet places are best but with tinnitus it's never quiet in my ears, my left ear is only working 20% which is where all my noise comes from.
I don't like cold callers, or recorded messages and of course the silent ones.

                      Agreed.
Let's remember that a good discussion, on any subject, is one where it doesn't get personal. GC is renown for it's members ability to discuss/argue points of view in good humour and reason without questioning opposing members personal views and Faiths.:coffee::snork:

That's what I like about you, NG, ............you're an Optimist.:dunno::heehee: I actually had to go back and look at the title of the thread to remember what it was.:snork: :ideaIPB: Still, you can always add Threads that go off topic to your pet hates.:snork:

News reporters who ask people idiotic questions.

I found myself shouting at the telly (again) while watching the BBC news this evening. During a report on the terrible flooding in Carlisle, the reporter was interviewing someone whose house was flooded. The poor chap was describing how the water had pretty much ruined the entire contents of his house, at which point the reporter asked him "So how does that make you feel?"

                            :gaah:

Not satisfied with that searching piece of journalism, the same reporter next decided (while floating down the road in a dinghy), to interview another unfortunate fellow who could be seen leaning out of his bedroom window, his house almost half submerged in flood water. "What's it like in there?" he enquired as he floated past.

                            :wallbanging:

There was also the TV reporter who watched a woman being brought out of the floods on a boat and stopped the woman who was absolutely freezing and shivering in real discomfort to ask her the usual stupid repetitive questions. The woman said "I'm freezing" again and again but the Reporter kept trying to delay the poor woman to get answers to her dumb questions......to the point where one of the Firemen rescuers had to intervene and taken the woman away for treatment and some warmth. The Reporter didn't even apologise for getting in the way.:dunno::gaah::doh:
