I'm going to blame the fact I operate a business for being a dinosaur and still use medieval equipment. Oh, and probably being a senior is another reason for being a dinosaur :heehee:

I always use my scan to email things to people, that way, the email is my documentation that I sent it to them, and I can tuck that email away in a file on my computer. Faxes responds are just another sheet of paper.

Yes, I print things but my current printer is only a scanner as well. It's only 10 years old whereas the printer/scanner/fax was 15 years old.

When I want to send a document nowadays I don't use my scanner as it's not very good anymore. I just take a quick photo of it and email that. :blue thumb:

Unfortunately our tax man does not accept electronic files, he wants to see paper copies of my receipts, etc. whenever there is an audit. Now here's a time when paper cuts might be nice revenge...

We still have a fax machine at work. It started doing something the other day, so we all stopped what we were doing and ran over to watch. It was amazing.

Taxman here also wants to only see originals but rarely asks for them if an accountant has declared that he/she has viewed them.

Mechanics who have no common sense.

Yesterday the water pump in the carrier decided to fail and drained the radiator fluid and I had to pull of the road due to overheating. Took several short jaunts - drive, stop to let cool, repeat, to get to a service station

I had just had it in the day before for an oil change and general look over and they said all was well :wallbanging: I hadn't noticed on the bill that they had added a quart of radiator fluid and that was less than 6 weeks after the initial going over.... so why didn't they wonder how it could lose that much fluid so quickly - next time I'm going to read the bill over carefully....

Good thing was that it didn't happen this weekend when my son and his kids will be using it..

My local main dealer did a cam belt on Vicky (my previous car - Vectra), so I asked them to do the water pump at the same time. When I went to pick her up, they had only done the belt!
The service guy couldn't believe it either.
I got them to write down that if the water pump went, it would be done labour free. They agreed and gave me it in writing :blue thumb:.

Why is everyone so afraid of the darkest these days? Cars have laser cannons for headlights. Dog walkers and joggers with super bright head torch things on, and cyclists with their own personal light house that completely destroys your night vision.

I went for a walk down the sea front last night. I actually had to shield my eyes from the intense light off a cyclist who was still about 100 yards away. I get that people want to see and be seen, but it's getting way over the top.
