It`s surprising how many pc`s that slow to a crawl have a p2p program installed [IMG]

Ideal testing grounds for new virii, exploits and hacks ;)

not really a good idea to frighten people with posts like this........ [IMG]

better to advise, people on what they should and shouldn't do with peer2peer programs.....also if like me your computer is locked down and run firewall/virus/spyware/trojan programs when you use peer2peer then like me you won't ever have a problem. ;)

don't worry what hex said ;) a peer2peer is a program that runs on your computer for you to download anything you want.....dvd's/music/mp3/software etc. But you can also get viruses/spyware etc from downloading them.

I`m sorry if i worried anyone with my earlier comment. I think people should be aware of the potential risks of the darker side of the net.

Your firewall must be configured to allow the p2p program internet access to and from your pc, so it is authorised access, the firewall will let it through [IMG]

P2P networks are referred to as "file sharing networks" so the traffic goes both ways..
how else would the network know what mp3`s etc,etc are stored on your hard drive ;)

I am not too good on computer jargon, I have norton security installed which i would assume has me protected.
This, that is coming up i would say has something to do with hp as i have an hp printer, scanner.
As for the other you are mentioning P2P etc. pc medic will be able to answer this for you, as i havnt a clue.
