Fantastic pictures - I especially like the female blackbird, and the chaffinch.

Did I miss the bit where you told us how you got so close - or is it a telephoto lens?

Thanks folks. I'm really enjoying getting close up.
And yes LoL, Mrs W can now see them properly instead of seeing just "big birds" or "little birds" In fact she can now even differentiate a male chaffinch from a robin.
The female blackbird is very bold and ignores us even with our faces just a couple of feet away. The robin and finches are slowly becoming bolder, but the tits are on and off the feeder in seconds.

Brilliant Dave, particularly the Coal Tit as you say they don't stop for long. [IMG]
I had a few of mine, puffins and seals, from the Farne Islands trip enlarged to 8x10 at Bootsonline very cheaply and have them framed on our walls although mine we not as close as yours. [IMG]

I made a little bird table that is screwed to the kitchen window sill JarBax. The birds are not much more than a couple of feet from the camera. I'm using very little 'zoom' because if I do I cut off the heads of the taller birds. Biggest problem is avoiding reflections in the window glass. I'm still experimenting with exposure settings.

Stongy - Thanks. That Coal tit was the first that we've seen for ages. Plenty of blue tits and great tits have been about though and there was a bit of a fight going on the other day between a blue tit and a great tit over one of our nesting boxes. Result was a draw - they both retreated!

Still experimenting with exposure. This one could have been a bit sharper.
