Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and since I'm having a bash at giant onions this year I thought I'd jump straight into this thread.

Sowed my onion seeds at the back end of last year (last week in Nov i think it was). This is my 2nd year at trying to grow a whopper seriously, I used Robinsons Mammoth seed last year and managed a 2 and a half pounder, and gone with Ailsae seeds this year to try and smash last years weights. The onions today are at the stage my last years onions were at in June/July so I'm way ahead of them so far.

I have been keeping a diary blog of the progress right from the start when I sowed them. If anyone is interested I'll post the link when my account reaches the requirements to allow me to do so :)

Any advice will be much appreciated or I'll happily help others just giving it a go.

      Ash

Finally got around the supporting my onions. I used the peg and cable tie idea. It's worked fantastic. Thanks for the tips!

My tallest onion is around 40cm. The stems are thickening up nicely too

Planted my Bedford Champs out, still got the Kelsaes in the greenhouse, as they were off to a late start.

I think I might plant mine outside this weekend. Been hardening them off over the last few days

Mine are no-where near big enough to go outdoors yet, it might be another month at this rate.
