Giant ricinus in flower

too much water?

 

Just a side line, but I once planted castor oil plants against a west facing fence that I was growing sweet peas up.
For the whole summer I had the problem of the sweet pea petals falling on the leaves of the castor oil plants.
Not a problem until it rained, the petals stuck and rotted, making holes in the leaves.

So not a great combination
