Sorry scrungee but I dont agree.
I think ole Dave has enough to worry about already regarding things here, I'm not sure a big problem regarding sovereignty of a little bit of rock is on his agenda.

Especially when you bear in mind the EU will always back Spain should push come to shove.

Whilst in the RN I lived on the Rock for two years (When the border was closed)
The Gibraltarians, are so proud to be British,
In those days the UK built ships, oil tankers, and the first trip was to carry POTABLE WATER to the Rock
Meat came in freezer ships, apart from PORK that was reared on the rock and fed with fish scraps, many a pork chop I thought was mackerel
The Spanish fishermen have always entered Gib waters and stolen fish, They are upset now
because they can not trawl their nets across the bay due to some concrete blocks

We need to get all the Brit holiday makers who go to Spain to go to the Algarve instead, much nicer place, just as hot, and no doubt if enough go, they will put on Fish n Chips rather than the delicious local hot pots

Why dont we all buy Dutch tomatoes instead of Spanish.
      That would be a start.

Oh yeah, and we could tell them where to poke their onions.

I already have some personal embargoes on, French produce, because they don`t want ours, Cadbury, because Kraft did the dirty on the buy out, and it`s better for my diet, so I can give the Spaniards a swerve aswell with very little effort..:snork:

For the most part, I like the Spaniards. By and large, I think they are good, likeable people with an excellent approach to life. There are one or two things I disagree with them about. I wish they'd ban bull fighting and I wish their government would ditch the unfair program of retrospective withdrawal of planning consent, and I wish they'd stop arguing about land that isn't theirs, but apart from that, I think they're cool.

Odd isn't it, never met a bad Spaniard either, even the ones that robbed me at knife point gave me the option to walk away.

Minus my cash by the way.

On the most part, I really like them too, so why is their government trying to alienate them from the rest of Europe?

Yes, that stupid Alonso, Duke of Medina Sedonia, was a useless admiral :heehee:. He retreated back to Santander and it wouldn't surprise me if his family started the bank!

Yep, down near Plymouth, converted abbey. Never got to see around, spent 2 weeks on my knees in one room steam cleaning the tiles.

                  Seems a bit harsh!

Never mind, Zigs ... if you come and steam clean my tiles, I can promise you this:

                  ~ it won't take 2 weeks :nonofinger:
~ if being shown around is a requirement, I'll show you around :snork: (Got a quaint church or two to visit, a Roman mosaic, Roman Forts ... fancy gardens ... witches ducking stool ... and - this is bonus now - *they* won't have you on your knees)

Having looked at the pics in that article Zigs, the question on my mind is, looking at the boats, who'd win a race between the British coppers and their Spanish counterparts. Those Spanish police boats look like finely tuned racing machines:)
