    Hi LOL

you may find it was TOO hot for the yeast, and some of it may have been killed off.... as in my receipe, it says no higher than 21c .... do you have a wine cellar???? When I used to make wine, the temperature was very important for the yeast.... but I bet it still tasted really good!!! MMMMM!!!!! [IMG]

    [IMG] Hi LOL,
I thought mine could be a bit tastier too & have just done another batch with double the ginger, but same amount of sugar.. So we will see if that works..... [IMG] HB could be right your temps may have been too hot. Yeast is a bit tempermental when it comes to temps... I just put mine in the airing cupboard which is not really very warm at all this time of the year & it went away like a goodun.... :D Will let you know how it turns out... :D

Thanks HB and MF. No, I don't have a wine celler but we have a pantry where we store wine ... in the dining part of the kithen where my computer is! Perhaps that's a better place for it. [IMG]

I had extra ginger in this go, MF, but like you think it will be double portion next time to give it a real kick! :D

So, until next tasting ....

:D Well I made a second batch of the instant recipe. It didn't seem to have enough of a bite the first time, so I altered the amount of ginger & sugar. I used 5 & a bit tablespoons ginger & only 3/4 cup of sugar. I Let it brew for only 24hrs before chilling it too.. :D
[IMG] It was delicious this time.... [IMG] :D

Well done, MF! You're ahead of me I'm afraid as with this and that going on here I haven't started my second batch. :( I will hopefully get this done by the weekend and follow your example. ;)

I'll be back in touch. [IMG]

Just made up my second batch of ginger beer, folk ... about time, do I hear you say? [IMG]

Like you, MF, I used 3/4 cup of sugar and upped the amount of ginger, didn't measure, a big heap of it! :D :D I find it easier just poking the ginger in the bottle!

Have it sitting on the kitchen counter this time so, fingers crossed and I'll come back to you Thursday with the verdict!
