I think we all do that noisette, what we are talking about in these last few posts is how to make a record of what happened so we don't make the same mistakes next year :)

No help in seeing when the germination dates were for the past few years surely?

I am still waiting to sow most things they are giving minus or 1 or 2 in the south east again next week. Still I can remember going sledging on snow and having a bar b que at different easters so nothing new I just leave the sowing for a while.

Points taken:) , but as every year is different, it's all a bit academic, no? We've been here six years and there haven't been two winters or springs alike. Just as with 'jobs to do in the garden' type lists....it's far more dependent on local weather conditions than calendars!

That's very true noisette, another factor for me is that working full time I have to fit in gardening tasks at weekends (provided we aren't doing something else), so that means missing the 'ideal' slot for sowing or potting on or whatever.

Yes OneNote could work - I don't know if there's a mobile app though. The beauty of EverNote (other than it's free!) is that it's web based, has PC / Mac application as well as iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet. I can snap away on my phone straight into the application.

I've started my off like so:

Also, the cukes that have yet germinated, are now tucked up in an electric propagator...

I keep an any year diary and just note when I plant things and use the weather to guide me but it is very interesting how early some years are compared to others. Guess that is what makes our weather so interesting well being a fisherman most of my life I have dealt with the weather a lot:dbgrtmb:

As I mentioned in an other thread I use the progress of my spring bulbs as a guide, and this year they are three to four weeks later than the last few years.

Don't know what to expect from now on, as they are buried under a foot of snow and there is no sign of a thaw.

As for the weather; Last year I was wearing a Tee shirt at this time of the year to keep cool, this year I am wearing 'Three' shirts to keep warm :)

Such is the vaguery of the " British Weather"
