Gladioli question

    And Kristen, it isn`t overdoing it, methinks you are being a touch modest about your skills.

    I bought a pack of Gladioli bulbs in Wilkinson's last Spring as I'd never tried them before and they were only a pound. I'd say 80% of them came up so I was happy.

    I'll get some more this year as they do look lovely if they're in the right spot I think. But I find the foliage ugly so they get shoved at the back.

    Same colouring almost as I went for-very striking and will go very well with the paeonia rockii I am now searching for.

    I know I can get it mail order but I want to see it in the flesh first

    I am hopefully getting some Gladiolus italicus seed shortly from the RHS seed scheme. This is a wild flower from the Mediterranean that I believe is very similar to Gladiolus communis that Christopher Lloyd uses to like and write about so much.

    Has anyone grown Gladiolus from seed, or have an idea how long it will take from seed till it flowers.
