    Thing is, if we took notice of everything that so say does us harm, we wouldn't set foot outside the door. There are hazards 'a plenty', but as far as I'm concerned, it's all about keeping things in perspective. Sure, don't take unnecessary risks, but 'keep it real':)

      Of course you're right, Freddy, but you also you have to be real enough not to disregard "hazards" just by applying perspective, after all one person's perspective might not be a commercial organisations perspective.:snork:

        So where are we getting this glyphosate from, I only use it on weeds and tend not to eat them, once I've sprayed them.

            Nettles are alright. And some like dandelions but I find them a bit too bitter.

              Sorry, Freddy,what I meant was we can sometimes dismiss hazards on the premise "well, if that doesn't get me, something else will so why worry", which works fine until you die unnecessarily!!:heehee: When I referred to the commercial aspect I was just pointing out that the commercial organisations "perspective" is to dismiss and denigrate any allegations of dangers/hazards in the use of their products:snork: I probably didn't make myself clear in my other post due to drinking too much pesticide.:heehee:

                  I find dandelion coffee a bit sweet. I agree with you about nettle tea. Nettle tops are nice in soup and stew, but commercially produced nettle tea is often made from the roots too. An interesting statistic I once read about nettle roots is that they contain a chemical that as many as 1 in 3 people are estimated to be allergic too. Fortunately the symptoms are usually not dangerous, unless you happen to be more than a short sprint away from the nearest vacant toilet.

                    That's not a citation, that's what they want you to quote if you want to cite THEIR article. Its tripe, just trying to be sensational. It does not link to any published, peer reviewed, scientfic material.

                    No I don't. Google will find anything written by any half wit who wants to put an article in a blog claiming that Snake Oil is the next big thing. That doesn't make it true.

                    I don't read the Daily Mail, but its much like what you are quoting - stuff that "sells copy" - it certainly isn't a respected source of scientifically proven literature!

                    I am in no way claiming that Monsanto is some knight in shining armour, or that Roundup is safe, but reading - and posting a link to - stuff that is found on the net, particularly material such as this which is totally unsubstantiated, doesn't make it any more true or believable.
