But I did Google it.

Well you can if you want.
But I won't be able to see you so I'll just have to trust you. ;)

        R.I.P your Majesty our Queen

This life can often feel like a snow globe, forever being shaken and turned upside down.
And I think, our majesty was the constant.
Always there, always calm, never ruffled.
So if you're wondering why so many of us feel cast adrift today, it’s because we are my friends, we are.
We have known a true cornerstone in a world that changes daily.
Yes we will be fine, life will move on perfectly well.
        But an era has ended.
        An age is over.
        The world looks different today.
Allow yourself the space and the respect to grieve it.

My brother tells the story of the time he was introduced to the Queen, It was drummed into them beforehand that they were to address her as 'Your Majesty' and subsequently, if she spoke to them, as 'Ma'am'.
When he was introduced to her he said 'Your Majesty' but all that came out of his mouth was 'Hullo'. She smiled and walked on by.

She was a great Queen and Charles will be a great king
This picture do you notice the queen's hand, it has a bruise on it as if she had a needle in it.

Yes and I mentioned it in my earlier post . Sometimes hands can darken in the run up to passing away, my Dad's did .

Hmm only time will tell about how Charles will be.....yet to pass judgement on that I'm afraid.

Apparently she passed away in the morning. Someone in our family is in the position to know about these details. I won't say anymore..

The heads of state in many countries often attend royal funerals. I wonder if Putin will?

I only got to see her close up once , as children we were pushed to the front to watch as she passed by. She visited the newly opened Council Offices that were opposite our school in 1966.

Apparently not according to the news. He will be imagining how many precision weapons and special forces operatives would suddenly focus their attention on his route as soon as he steps outside of Russia.

On Friday evenings I hire a church hall for our training. Today I emailed the landlady, first of all to offer to cancel my class, thinking that as it's at a church, and we can get quite noisy, there might be people there wanting some quiet time in the circumstances. But also to ask, seeing as it's at a church, if there'd be an opportunity to pay some small tribute to our late queen, like maybe light a candle or sign a condolence book. I was a bit surprised by the rather curt response. It was simply, please use the hall as normal, there are is no candle rack at the church. When we got there it was all locked up and in darkness, which is not unusual at the time we go, hence they gave me a key, but I thought in the circumstances it would have been open.

We saw the queen when we were invited to a staff event in 2012. We didn't speak to her but she seemed very gracious.

As expected, we had a good wander around the garden and they were certainly observing the hosepipe ban as the lawns were all brown. I took photos in the garden and the grass looks even browner in the photos than I remember.
