I paid £22 for a japanese maple bloodgood .... when planted in the ground, it is approx 1 1/2 foot high ... client insisted he wanted one, and i could not find a larger at the time at at any garden centre nearby ... he was not prepared to wait for delivery from ebay

at my garden centre nearby (which is a large one), you will be very lucky to find any shrub or tree under a tenner, then they are small (a foot high in a small pot).... a decent sized photina red robin costs approx £30 ... a hosta in a small pot costs a tenner and a small fern costs a tenner aswell

a decent sized shrub/tree (4-5 foot) costs over £30 .... a star jasmine (4 foot high) costs nearly £30
