People have their own ways of saying Goodbye and I'm thankful that Steve had the respect for us to let us know he was going. I just hope everything is okay with him and his family.

Now if you went off in the way you say, Victoria, [and don't you dare!!:heehee:], people would worry about you and the reason why you had disappeared. So folk would be saying that they thought it "strange" that you hadn't said why:heehee::D:D So.....Deja vu.

Steve, sorry to hear you're going to call it a day. You'll be missed by us all.

You're also going to take my favourite avatar with you, I'll miss the giraffe too. :)

Be careful out there.......beyond the life of GC. :dbgrtmb:

:) But ARMANDII, people who know me would know why, and people who don't wouldn't give a second thought to where I was or why.

I may be tired ....... I may have run away ...:runhills: .... I may be otherwise occupied with too much work ... :pcthwack: ... or I may just be having some time out with my loved ones ... :kittykiss:

Sorry I do not agree. (with the leaving reasons)
When some one leaves at the time you say goodbye, "keep in touch", or "you will be missed"

Neither are true. How about logi06* unlike your average "join post and go" person s/he made 41 posts does anyone ever ask about logi06, no.

Or take daitheplant, a lot of posts made just after he went, but that's it.

However I think I can explain it.

Where I work, over time lots of people have left for what ever reason, same old things are said. There are two people I do "keep in touch with" but when I say keep in touch, we just exchange emails (Partially because of the distance) The other became apparent because of the email content. The only thing ever discussed was where I am still working, no matter what I asked either of the others, it always came back to where I am still working. The reason is they were work colleges, not friends.

So I suggest that anyone who leaves will not be missed more than a few days simply because you no longer have anything in common with them.

          * Found at random.

True, Victoria, but there are people on GC who don't "know" you but have read your posts, know that you're a long standing member and, if I may be so bold, an interesting "Character" and they are some of the members who would wonder why. Even some of the more established members who "know" you are not mind readers and would perhaps wonder and worry. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think caring and respect is a two way street. I, for one, would wonder and worry if you disappeared...............I'd miss your "eye" on me:D:heehee:

I see your point Watergarden, same thing happened with Friends Reunited, people got in touch again but then found they had nothing in common.

Point is here that we've been chatting for years because we have got something in common. Same with a few old friends that I might not have spoken to for years, I can still pick up the phone & carry on a chat as if it was only yesterday.

I won't forget Steve just because he's not posting here anymore and i've just been exchanging pm's about Dai's whereabouts.

Logi06 came here for information and is now busy on Deviant Art forums, so she is probably chatting with one of my Daughters on there.

Steve doesn't have to give a reason for leaving. That's his own personal business.

Just let him go without making an issue of it please!

Shame. I was hoping that you'd tell us all exactly what we could do with your coarse grit, at the very least.
