Wow, kindredspirit, you could charge admission to that garden! It looks like something straight out of the Botanicals. Lovely job; your hard work looks beautiful!

Thanks very much for the nice comments. I'm sort of wandering along with this garden, incorporating a bit of this and a bit of that. Here's what you can do with local weeds! Just because local weeds can be common doesn't mean you can't use them in your garden.

          Here's three around the pond.

Large Bird's Foot Trefoil in the Reed Canary Grass.

Purple Vetch in Reed Canary Grass. The photo doesn't do justice to the intensity of its colour.

          Purple Loosestrife in the Bulrushes.

So instead of popping down to the garden centre, ask your friendly local farmer!

However, dandelions are NOT allowed. :nonofinger: :nonofinger:

Just got some ovals made in trellis panels. They'll be going up along on top of the wall. There'll be 5 ovals in 5 spaces: the other 3 spaces will be plain trellis. Just trying them out this morning to see how they look.

The oval provides a lovely frame to the garden.
