That is just stunning the way the planting has matured.

And the wildlife your helping must be mind boggling. I hate lawns, such of waste of space.

“There’s nothing––absolutely nothing––half so much worth doing as sitting by the pond in the sun on an un-naturally hot, late September, Friday, evening, looking at dragonflies, whirlygig beetles, sticklebacks and a spread of waterlilies whilst imbuing a glass of Gavi." (With apologies to Kenneth Grahame.)

This cactus lives outdoors beside the pond all year round. Don't know what the name of it is, though. :(
I weed around it with a forceps! :)

Raining all morning so spent most of the time in the pagoda with cups of coffee. Sky has cleared now so off to "work"!

Piccie taken of water lily flowering last weekend but it's still flowering now on the 9th of November. (Might be a record.) :)

Thanks Shiney and Lolimac. It's meant as a 12 month garden, although the weather recently would deter even a polar bear from wandering around in it. :) :) I've an unusual idea for my Japanese Maples and which I'm costing at the moment. Might take 2 or 3 months to make, if I can get the cost down to a reasonable figure first.

This is a picture of the forceps, which I mentioned above, to weed around the outside cactus.

Someone remarked when they saw the pic, that part of the stomach must have come out with them! :) :) :)

The forceps are very handy also for weeding between Saxifrages in the troughs. Do you think I might get offered a job in an operating theatre yet? :) :) :)
