Lots of Scad around last night, must have caught about 20 of them :hate-shocked:

Was talking to someone at the pub last night who has become a beach fishing convert (from boat fishing). He seems thoroughly enamored!

Did mention you're only allowed to remove ONE fish per session so he eats his on the beach :)

Not heard about that, there's a 3 Sea Bass bag limit, unless you're a pair trawler and can take tonnes of them :th scifD36:

Same with Eels, we can't take them from rivers or within 6 miles from the coast on a boat, yet the environment agency are still issuing licences to take the baby elvers, madness.

I even phoned them up when the restriction came in, telling them in no uncertain terms, what I thought of the licences.

They argreed, but said they were legally bound to issue the licence :th scifD36:

I also spoke to Nigel Farage, but that was just to tell him he can't run for parliament without a policy on fishing :paladin:

Took a vid last night, if you look carefully in the centre of the first part, you can see the moonlight dancing on the waves :)

Do they define a session?

Does walking off the beach and then back on it again constitute a second session?

If not, then where do you draw the line (no pun intended)?

Leave the beach and go for a cuppa :noidea: and then return?

Leave the beach and go to the next beach?

Oh! I would really have fun arguing this with the authorities :heehee:

3 Bass limit was last year, it's now (from 1/7/16) only one per day

So if night fishing starting before midnight and ending after midnight you could legally have 2 Bass in your possession (unless you'd already caught another Bass somewhere else earlier the first day, and you wouldn't be allowed to keep any more Bass if you went fishing again somewhere else later on the second day.

Simple isn't it? http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-cont...2016.022.01.0001.01.ENG&toc=OJ:L:2016:022:TOC But I doubt if the holidaymakers fishing at West Bay Harbour and filling ex-ice cream tubs with dozens of tiny undersized fish know any rules whatsoever (The minimum size is now 420mm).

I'll be packing my tackle and stove early next week. Last year I caught a few Mackerel around sunset on East Beach, and my wife and daughter wanted to wait until morning to eat them, but I explained they have to be eaten immediately to get the best from them so it was just Dog and I who stayed up to share a midnight fried Mackerel feast.
