the other dead husband tried his hand at wife beating .... and since I'm glad he can't hurt anyone anymore, I have his obituary which is the size of 1/2 a credit card, plasticized as a bit of a keepsake. :rasp: on him. I carry the obit in my wallet as a good luck charm :snork: - people don't believe me when I tell them this until I show it to them :snorky:

    now That is funny

That's why I said no, then fled to England and set up a whole new identity for myself.

Morrisons also sell baby Red Gurnard! Can't believe 9"/225mm is a legal landing size.

I hated the idea of that tiny fish being killed and binned, so as they were about to close I bought it for Dog, I believe it's a terrible waste if animals are killed for food then thrown away.

According to the Angling Trust http://www.anglingtrust.net/page.asp?section=163 they do not reach sexual maturity until 250mm long, what hope is there when they're being removed before they've had a chance to breed? (and that's only if they get to 250mm just in time for their breeding season, so some 50% will need to wait up to a year longer).

              Wouldn't buy it anyway @Scrungee .
Looks like its mostly head, and I usually throw fish heads away.

What would be the chances of selling it with the head removed?

Went down Dungeness this morning bought a load of plaice, couple of lemon sole and some mackerel.
The mackerel had not been gutted so guessing they were fresh enough.

Just eaten one, totally different from those from the N.E. Atlantic, Morrisons, and atleast 3 times the size.:)

Year's ago, anglers went there and had massive catches, I've heard of those who went on their bikes and had to go back several times to collect all their catch. Not much left anywhere these days as the commercials have scooped everything up.

Can remember a mate of mine in the 70s used to catch pretty big cod, in the winter, just off the beach at Dungy.
He packed it up in the early 80s, said it was finished.
Mind you he hated Mackerel, he would pack up and go home in the summer if he was catching them.
                    Think he liked Bass.

Caught a huge Ling once. It was about three feet long, maybe even a bit longer, but as we were away for the weekend and the fridge where we were staying was too small I was told to give it to a restaurant. (Always remember that ling.) :(
