    Yeah, I figured it must have been down to conditions, even though I prepared the ground. I did try eating one or two, but (from memory) found them a bit subtle/bland tasting, so didn’t bother with them again.

          Well done John. I seem to remember when I grew them, it took 3 sowings to get them underway. :thumbsup:

                    Ought to be sowing mine now, but my indoor lights are 0.6 x 1.2m which is probably excessive for a couple of dozen seedlings. Might bring one of my smaller ones in from the greenhouse.

                      I better get mine sown before Friday, propagator out, seeds sown and then off for the weekend in my new house (Yes, Carol is coming too). :)

                        Why does my packet say that when planting out next spring, they need to be umpty inches apart? Their roots certainly don't reach very far and their foliage is straight up so what's with the spacing? Does everyone put them far apart?

                          They need to be spaced out to grow really big, like this grower does
