Got myself a new allotment

Great job @"doddery" As I too live in Fife I know exactly how poor the weather was shortly after you got your new allotment so you have made trmendous progress.
Here's hoping we get a better season next year. This season started brilliantly and then swiftly went down hill come July.
If ever you are needing more horse manure I have a never ending supply!

You've got that organized well, I've seen some allotments over the years as my cousin had one also and some seem neglected.
I like parsnips/carrots but with Blueberries it's a no go as I find them bitter

 

I think it depends on the variety of blueberries, I've got some that are bitter but a couple of others that are quite sweet.

 

@doddery, Never new you could get sweet ones, as I seem to have always tasted bitter.

Our garden when we moved here was like an allotment...section for strawberries which me dog liked section for grapes, Rhubarb which was big and an whole section of barley, apparently it was a brew your own garden

 

What a terrific looking site, and now you have it in shape cant wait to see what you plant..

 

Been a while since I posted an update on my new allotment. I had a great year in 2018 due to the great summer we had. I've attached a photo which was taken early in the growing season. However, the best thing from last year was I now have bees on my allotment. I have three hives at the moment and , fingers crossed, they will make it through the winter. They have certainly been active the past few days bringing in lots of pollen from the crocusses and snowdrops which are around. Hopefully not too long before they are seen around the allotments pollinating all the apple, pear, and cherry trees.

 

Oh my goodness! I'd love to have a patch of land like this to grow my veggies on!
