I know about it, anyway if they use it for missing people i'll have a alet every day, there is people going miss here more or less every day then next day or 2 they turn up safe and well
Any way the hammer is next to the phone if i get one, if it's putin pushing the red button then there is no need for the alet

I'd heard about it but can't say I remembered when it's going to happen, surely you can turn your phone off.

Some people just wander around in a daze I think, they keep pushing the fact you will need photo ID in order to vote next month but I bet people will still turn up without any.
Some will probably do it on purpose anyway but others will just have not heard about it.
All I can say is, lets hope we don't get a national emergency next Sunday, because they won't be able to warn us.

In the UK they reckon someone goes missing every 90 seconds. In a calendar year it's estimated over 70,000 children go missing with 90% returning home or being found within 48 hours, that still leaves 10% missing longer than 48 hours. As a family we have downloaded the Life360 app, which is a location sharing app. We downloaded the app when my daughter started University in Lincoln.

If she is in a shop, bar etc etc then we know the establishment she is in. In contrast, when I go to the pub, I make sure my mobile goes missing. :)

Have you checked the Emergency Alert sound on your phone? My ringtone makes more noise. If you cannot drive around a nasty corner when it sounds then you shouldn't be driving.
We are not talking about an air raid siren going off in your pocket or handbag.

I haven't got a phone. That's why I said in a previous comment you probably haven't seen, that I'd be blown up or abducted by aliens ... it was meant to be light hearted (Shiney mentioned the aliens).

I was only giving examples I thought of at the time. And some people would panic. I'm not going to enter into any debate about this. Goodbye, I'm leaving this thread to picky people now.

That is worrying the staff that will be working at the Polling Stations as they think there is a high chance of people being abusive when not allowed to vote. It needed much more than a few months to try and get the message across and even in those few months they have done a lousy job of it.

I can't see much of a reason to actually have a phone on whilst driving as you shouldn't be using it.

My phone is my Sat nav. Even when I know where I am going it warns me of traffic conditions ahead. It is always on. As are most driver's mobile phones. Many are hands-free (something I think is just as dangerous as holding a phone). Many people use their phones as their source of music while driving. Personally I no longer listen to music while driving but I used to and my playlist was on my phone. It would randomly select any of the hundreds of tracks I had stored there.

From what I see of a lot of friends, they would be lost (nothing to do with satnav) without their phones with them and switched on.

On the government site it says upon hearing the alarm you should not look at your phone if you are driving.
You should instead find a safe place to stop and then look at it.

Can you imagine in a real emergency everyone trying to find somewhere to safely stop, motorway services would be full.
