I had a 'Lord Kitchener' sticker with that gem for years in the back of my car  It was great seeing people behind smile or laugh, especially first thing in the morning ...

          Here we go

One in five UK phones did not receive emergency alert, government says

          So basically, it didn't work.

The message reached 80% of compatible phones. The government calls this a success. I'm reminded of the wise words of my electronics tutor at college. He said, the exam pass mark is 80%, but if in industry you balls up 20% of the time you'll soon get fired.

Three Mobile had a 'technical issue', but their engineers have fixed it, so apparently it will work in future. I'm a techy. I can say with confidence that a technical issue is not 'fixed' until it has been tested and proven to be fixed. So according to the government and Three, it is definitely fixed even though there are no plans to test it.

It all feels like a bit of a farce to me.

They pulled the plug at 15:21 while some networks were still transmitting.

That tells me that they don't actually know how many would have got it, or when.

Maybe they are working on a way to reduce the population by 20% when we have an emergency. :roflol: I'm still going to practice my running round in circles screaming! :heehee:
