I agree, some use the flat clips,But I think you`ll find they will adapt to W clips.lol Even the ones that use glazing strips.

Oh, and you need to seal the ends of the poly to stop dead flies etc getting in the ends, and also give you any form of insulation value.

Got to agree though, polycarbonate does not go yellow with age like some plastics.

You get the panels from a manufacturer and 9 times out of 10 the ends are sealed.:dbgrtmb:

If I had polycarb in my greenhouse, one day it would be there, the next gone..........probably in somebody elses garden. :heehee: It's to light to cope with the gale force winds we get here!

You get it professionally fitted, as oppossed to doing it yourself, and it will be siliconed in making the greenhouse stronger also.:dbgrtmb:

I would agree with Pete ,
It is repairable and stick with what is already there . Horticultural Glass with W.clips .This would also be your cheapest option .

I don't think that you should be so hasty, Dai. Have you ever set foot on the Isle where Sheal lives and experienced the type of weather and winds that can happen there?? Also, to be fair, Sheal is an experienced gardener and it seems that her practical common sense, plus her experience on the Isle has decided her against the use of plastic for Greenhouse glazing.

For your information Dai, I might be female and like you getting on a bit, but I built my greenhouse, toughened glass and all.

Would you like to come and join me here in a force 10? It not only rips up trees, greenhouses, sheds and fences but had ripped a bay window out of a previous house of mine twice and a dormer window in my daughters house. It's no joke!

You are not the only one here who has a great deal of knowledge Dai and should take on board other peoples experiences.

I also went through the hurricane that hit Essex many years ago when I lived there.
