When our village policeman told the parish council that we couldn't remove items left on the recreation ground as it would constitute 'stealing by finding' they went along with my suggestion that we take everything to the police station as 'lost property'. That shut him up.

Ours collections are every 2 weeks too.
Week 1: General waste, and paper
Week 2:Green waste, and tins and card recycling etc.

I don't pay extra, but if my council was to start charging, I would dump as much green waste into the general rubbish as I could and not put out the green bin.
My council tax is exhorbitant as it is. Not going to pay another "tax"

Our waste collections are similar to most , two wheelie bins one week and the other two the next week . We don't have to pay for collections , and this year the green bin collection is running all through winter . It used to stop December and January .

Our brown bin(garden waste) and plastic garden waste bags will not be collected between December 1st and March 1st then back to every 2 weeks.

We don't have a green waste collection at all! Think it's because we live in the countryside? Fine as long as we don't get stopped having bonfires. Oh gosh shock horror bonfires, bet that's where much of the burnable so called recycling ends up anyway! We have 1 bucket collection per week. 1 for cans /plastic once a month, ditto for paper and cardboard and 2 per month for general waste. This brainwave came in about 4 months ago and in effect have cut our bucket collections by half. If we get lots of snow the bucket men then go and drive snow ploughs and we'll get nothing collected. 2 winters ago we didn't have a collection for over 3 months and didn't get a snow plough either...sigh!
