Leave them and see what happens. How are things going in the garden?

 

Hi Dai. Generally things are going quite well, considering. So far, no failures as such. At this stage I`m just trying to keep things under control whilst at the same time trying to make progress in other areas, the greenhouse for instance. The problem is clearing areas but the stuff I got from Wilko`s (systemic weedkiller) seem to work well, so I`m just waiting for the forecast to say it`s going to stay dry so that I can really get to work on those weeds/grass/nettles (you name it!). BTW, the cabbages are going great guns now ! Cheers...freddy.

 

BTW, we harvested our first crop in 20 years today, Rocket, and very nice it was too !

 

Much better than shop bought, hey?:thumb:

 

You can buy this stuff at the shop ? :D

Hi Dai. Just as an aside ( I know this isn`t really the right thread ), would my root crops benefit from some growmore or maybe something similar ? Cheers...freddy.

 

Superphosphate of Lime. Root crops, especially spuds, love it. For your onions, use Nitrate of Soda.:thumb:

 

I thought potatoes hated lime ? Or is this something else ?

 

It`s not lime, freddy, it`s a phosphate. So I`ll change my answer. Use superphosphate freddy, root crops love it.:D:D:p

Hi again. Dai, is there any reason why I shouldn`t remove some of the lower leaves from my cabbages (for eating) ? Cheers...freddy.

 

I don`t think it will do any harm Freddy, It`s what I used to do.:D:thumb:
