          @Sandy Ground
          This is so gorgeous . I hope one day my garden will be like that.

          @Upsydaisy
          Interrogation by niceness... Well they warned me about that :biggrin:. My lips are sealed.

          And about that martini. Nice try but to be honest I prefer a nice scottish whisky or a well aged glass of rum.

          @Sheal
          Wow, this sounds interesting. Shoot away, now I am curious ;)

            @Black Dog, are you sure you want me to air my thoughts in full view of our fellow friends here on GC? :biggrin:

            Another member that has posted here on your thread will be able to answer one of the three. ;)

            @Sheal I could think of a couple of your thoughts. One vould refer to a pet owned by an RAF Bomber Command Squadron Leader during WW2, the other to a well known singing Plant! :heehee:

              Living in France is wonderful, living amongst the hunters, No No No.. Some still are a very dedicated lot, every noise they make with their dogs and trumpets feels like another animals death toll....

              This is what I was thinking @Black Dog, although the first one was referred by @Sandy Ground. :)

              Ah, you've added one to the list that I hadn't thought of Sandy. :) I believe the black dog in question was owned by Wing Commander Guy Gibson during WWII. A black Labrador that wouldn't be correct for me to name here.

              You know me well Sandy! ;) The well known singing Plant is of course Robert Plant, of whom I'm a life long fan. :imphrt: He was lead singer of rock band Led Zeppelin and they wrote and recorded a song called "Black Dog".

              Quote from the internet: "A black dog is a motif of a spectral or demonic entity found primarily in the folklore of the British Isles. The black dog is essentially a nocturnal apparition, in some cases a shapeshifter, and is often said to be associated with the Devil or described as a ghost or supernatural hellhound".

              Black Dog can also be used when referring to depression.

                I would have suggested a lot of things, but a pet to a Famous WWII Bomber Squadrons officer. Never heard that one. :yes:

                My grandparents actually were passionate hunters, but while i do like a nice piece of venison or a rabbit stew, i dont really care for the hunt. Seeing that a lot of animals reproduce pretty fast and especially older specimen often die during harsh winters, I see the point of hunting them as long as it is done with the best intentions and they are actually used for food.

                What i absolutly can't get behind is hunting for the sole purpose of killing and getting a trophy to hang above the chimney. Same goes with rare animal hunting or just shooting at animals for fun.

                (typed this message sometime this morning but it seems i missed to send it - well better late than never)

                  Wow, there are some interesting interpretations. I guess there actually was a black labrador involved, but i dont think it was really famous. One of my childhood dogs :doggieshmooze:

                  Excuse me for the double post. I seem to have missed the send-button bevore logging out this morning. Big storm mith lots of snow is brewing outside and i had to wrap all my newly planted trees in bubblewrap to pretect them from the storm and harsh temperatures.

                  Wish me luck, i am hoping to wake up to a snowcovered garden tomorrow :snooze:

                    We learn something new every day @Black Dog ! :) The dog in question was adopted by the squadron and Guy took it with him on some flights. Quite a big dog to cram into a small plane of the time.

                    I totally agree with you, hunting should be for food only. I've never tasted venison and it's a long time since I've eaten rabbit. It's a food that is pretty much forgotten now.

                    I'm hoping for the opposite, there's been snow here almost continuously since Christmas, it's time Spring put in an appearance. Stay safe and I hope your plants survive the storm.

                      @Sheal I'm not sure if you or others will be aware of this, but the dogs name was removed from its headstone some time ago as it was not considered to be pc.

                          Removing a name from a headstone because people find a dog's name offensive.... Jesus....
