Grow bag or pots for toms?

    Its pots for me to. use either 14litre pots or like this year when i found i was a couple short. i simply drilled holes in a couple of black builders buckets. I have also found if you get buckets from toolstation they work out cheaper that the equivalent size pot.

    Grow bags are to difficult to maintain correct watering. Put the growbag compost into pots with the bottoms cut out and sit on larger containers / trays filled with sand or stones as a water reservoir. Much easier to maintain and gives good results.

    Cut the grow bags in half equally dividing the compost and stand the half bags on their end in a tray of gravel put a few holes in the bag at tray level.

    this is what I do too. Last year I got so many I was able to make four jars of chutney! Had to buy the onions, though, so this year I've planted onions as well.
