Grow your own mushrooms

    I have bought some mushroom spoor from B&Q it was in their seed section cost �£4 but so far havnt got around to doing anything with them yet. It says on the packet that beat results achived with well rotted manure which i dont have any of, will anything else do, garden compost for example.

    Got mine from Woollies about a month ago. They were selling off the kits for �£2.99 instead of �£12.00. I'm just about to harvest the first crop. I also bought a tomato growing kit for the same price and I've germinated 13 seeds of the variety 'Sweet Million'.

    sweet million are supposed to be prolific producers.
    Im growing them for the first time this year.
    What is other peoples experience of them ?

    i have just bought a packet the same as you describe, and as you- i dont have any well rotted manure like the packet says! are there any alternatives?
