That in a nutshell describes High street retailing. The traders have no say in council decisions, policy nor planning, council officers invariably live elsewhere. So long as they have somewhere nice for lunch, they care less than not at all about the residents.

And as long as the rates keep rolling in, they dont care what types of business is there.

I do keeps seeds from one year to the next but mostly I buy fresh ones, you never know if the germination rate is good after they have hung around for over a year.
Admittedly its ok with some things but is it really that expensive, mostly I try new stuff each year anyway.

Come September, some garden centres will be selling this years seed at half price or less.

That reminds me of the very old cartoon that the magazine 'Punch' printed, years ago, of a tramp walking along the road and the caption "I used to give the biggest discounts in town".

For those of you that have never heard of 'Punch' it was a satirical magazine that was first published in 1841 (I remember it well :old: :heehee:) and only ceased publishing 20 years ago.

There was absolutely nothing much left in our nearest store last week anyway, most shelves were bare.

We were in The Range yesterday and they were selling packets of veggie seeds for 49p and two packets of courgette seeds (Black Beauty - 11 in a pack) jumped into Mrs Shiney's hand :hate-shocked:. Flower seeds were also cheap but not sure of the price. Think they were a little bit more expensive.

@shiney that's the trouble with cheap seeds, (and plants) they're somehow magnetic. What can you do?

I went to The Range today and got my dill seeds for 49p. I only looked for them so didn't spot any other bargains. It's good when one gets a bargain like this when you consider I'd bought some Cosmos seeds elsewhere the other day which cost over £2.50 a packet.
