the ones I bought don't have chains .... the main bracket has a hole which lines up to a hole on the basket ... you add a small padlock

That will probably work for maybe 5 millenia, 10 at the max, until the first of the missing link members of the neighbourhood picks up a screwdriver, grunts, looks at the screw in the jubilee clip, grunts again, and then surprises all onlookers by trying the screwdriver in the jubilee clip. Thus the next great evolutionary leap begins.

You make sure you keep John Thomas warm now!

I had a rather handsome Christmas bouquet nicked off the front door one year. I just wire it on really thoroughly now so they can't take it on impulse.

You could just run an electric current through to the metal support and chain. By the time the plod and ambulance arrived you could have removed the evidence and claim it must have been God smiting the thieving toerag with lightning.

That's the ones Zig. Obviously some people still have genes that needs a few more thousand years or so to get to that level, but they'll get there. Its a marathon not a race, Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

But this is what it's like today isn't? Hard to believe when I was a kid that Gum and Cigarette machines were on the outside walls of most newsagents...or that phone boxes always had a phone book in them...tatty maybe, but they didn't get chucked all over the street.

nowadays, they ram raid the post office or the one-stop convenience store with 4X4's and yank out the cash machine in a matter of minutes

had to phone an 08 number this morning .... don't have a BT home phone, and only use a mobile .... decided to go to the call box in our village as its free to call from BT or phone box ....

the call box was trashed and out of order

2012, hang £1000 worth of tobacco on a street wall with two rawl plugs, then add £200 worth of Cadburys chocolate alongside with additional two rawl plugs :roflol:

Just how far have we lowered ourselves :cry3:
