              Naples
              Civitavechia/Rome
              Savona

Back to back cruises one from Dubai to Savona then one from Savona to the Black Sea Ports and back

Very interesting, and entertaining, missed out on most of the actual port visits, due to non accommodation of disabilities, but fortunately done it before, so knew what we were not missing :-)
Actually were miffed at missing the ports just putting on a brave face, as the shipping lines have changed the rules and you have to have written proof of disability, that they did not tell us about before we arrived on board

I tried to explain that Julie did not get written proof and a Blue Peter badge that she could never walk again, and possibly the two crutches and chair could give a clue, but
they would not consider it :-) They thought I was a bit cheeky

So we just sat on the balcony and watched the world go about its business along with a bottle of Gin or two :-)
Consequently all my pix are of Dockyards and Tugs

To be honest it was good really, not having to join the rat run to get everywhere in six hours and get back

A good mix of ports there, Jack :blue thumb:

You're right about the ratrace. Even when able bodied it takes an enormous amount of stamina when it's such a port intensive cruise. I bet you got good service when lots of the others had gone ashore and you had plenty of room aboard.

Back in the good old days when I worked on the ships we always gave priority to the disabled. When in port, they were always taken off the ship first - and they were carried by some hefty crewmen. None of this trying to get the wheelchair down a bumpy ramp. When going ashore by tender they were put in the tender before it was lowered to the water. That wouldn't be allowed under 'Elf 'n Safety' nowadays.
