Managed to book a 3 night bargain break caravan for only about £61.35 @ Pitlockery to connect with one end our canal boat holiday starting at Falkirk which will save trucking camping gear all the way to Scotland & back.

So you will see and ride the Falkirk Wheel, and at Pitlochry the famous fish ladder for the Salmon (no tickling now :nonofinger:)

Sounds good to me, free is my favourite price.

@Jack McHammocklashing Am I right in thinking the Forth Road Bridge is now toll free? If so, I might take that route to the boatyard at Falkirk.

Yes the bridges are now toll free, but you would not cross the bridges going to Falkirk from Perth, you would go down A9 M9 To Falkirk

Well, I know one thing that I won't be doing this year and that's taking advice from Martin Lewis. Last year he was advising to switch your gas and electricity to a fixed rate contract to avoid the price rises, which I did. Now my fuel is costing me more than customers who didn't fix their rates as I won't be eligible for the governments green tax fuel reduction.
Thanks for your less than poor advice Martin Lewis.

Yes, the more direct route is (according to RAC) about 9 miles shorter, but we wouldn't experience the Forth Road Bridge, nor the opportunity to pick up a camera lens from a seller on the north side of the Firth of Forth @ over £30 cheaper than Amazon.

P.S. @Jack McHammocklashing I've looked at what's going on in September @ The Forth Road Bridge for the 50th celebrations and regret I'm not going to be there then. The cost of going up the bridge tower seems exorbitant, but it seems a good time to be around for the fireworks. I'd love to have been there but have 2 other holidays booked in September.

Experience the bridges, fine, cross the Tay bridge, and before you get to the Forth bridge, drop down right to Rosyth and go to North Queensferry, down to the coast A half mile or so
(This is where all the pix are taken showing the bridge) parking is usually OK)

Any further info or meet up take it to PM would be best

        Regards Jack McH
