Pete, I agree with you :dbgrtmb: but we're behind in getting the place tidied up and ready for planting/potting etc.

Surely its not frozen, up in Shineyland?
I've been lucky I know, very cold wind, but it dries the ground out, being on clay.
So yes I would like it a bit warmer, but I just enjoy the dry days.

A bit more sun wouldn't go amiss though.

I got fed up with this weather and did a bit in the garden this morning.

Planted out a few bits that I got from Amulree last autumn.

My double impatiens are germinating, but they are on top of the aquarium, sealed in bags and under a lamp with an old style lightbulb which gives out heat!! I have never found any other way to germinate impatiens!!

        • I've grown weary of the waterlogged Autumn
        • I've grown weary of the snowy/cold Winter
        • I've grown exasperated from the lack of sunshine
        • I've grown accustomed to disappointment
        • I've grown more familiar with the regular posters on GC
        • I've grown a beard (could be hormonal? :dunno: )
        • I've grown in knowledge of gardening (fab search engine on GC! )

From that perspective ... it's been a great time for growing! :roflol:

I go out with my beard on. I can't see any problems with it. It keeps my face nice and warm. Today I had an ice cream down the sea front. I was freezing, but my face was warm.

I've got 25 ish trays of seedlings in my spare room, but I'd have to do a grand tour to remind me what they are at the moment. :heehee: I've decided to grow mainly perennials this year as I've lost patience with growing loads of annuals just to see them keel over at the end of the growing/flowering season. Must be my age! :old:

My heated propagator is working hard and seeds are still going through that as if on a conveyor belt, I've doubled up this year with the amount to grow. I don't normally start until the beginning of March but because of the amount to get going I started mid February, which now with the weather situation doesn't seem to have been a good idea.
